ABSTRACT
Cities today experience the need to plan policies and activities aimed at the quality of urban life and sustainable development. The issue of sustainability must now be related and connected to the quality of historical preservation. The similarities abound. Both ideas have cultural, social, and technological significance, and refer to a responsible future offering tangible options for those who come after us.
The project for the restoration and conversion of the Santa Teresa Convent, which will be realized in the next few months, incorporates the highest standards of development through the investment into environmental, social and economic sustainability, as well as the transformation and renovation of the existing buildings.
The concept of sustainability requires deep thought. It isn’t in our hands to define the quality of life for future generations, but it is our responsibility to provide future generations the freedom to choose what kind of world they want to live in.
Parole chiave/Key-words: sustainable development, lightness, restoration, re-use.
