IL MATTATOIO DI ROMA (1881-1891). STUDIO DEL PROGETTO DELLE STRUTTURE IN FERRO

ABSTRACT

Il contributo presenta i primi risultati di una ricerca volta ad approfondire lo studio dei caratteri formali e materiali delle strutture in ferro del complesso dell’ex Mattatoio di Roma e a definire strumenti di conoscenza utili a una pratica di conservazione appropriata. Una sistematica ricerca storica e documentale e un’analisi delle fasi costruttive del manufatto, effettuata anche attraverso campagne di rilevamento, hanno permesso di individuare alcuni tra i caratteri più significativi del complesso.

The paper presents the first results of a research aimed at deepening the study of formal and material features of the iron structures in the complex of the former slaughterhouse in Rome and define tools of knowledge useful in the practice of appropriate preservation. A systematic historical and documentation research and analysis of the construction phases of the building , carried out through survey campaigns , have identified some of the most significant features of the complex.
