ABSTRACT

All artistic production of '900 has questioned the concept of “matter”, “duration” and “time” of art. Therefore it seems to lose consistency throughout the conceptual framework and with this how restorative intervention also.

Partially in ways that put the crisis of the concept of restoration. For products of modernity, in fact, it is hard to translate simply methods, techniques and interventions as they have been designed for the monuments of past ages; instead it must instead locate necessarily new interpretations.

The case of the iron sculptures can be considered exemplary.

Starting from these works is possible to understand the contradictions of restoration”. Then you can experience a new way of understanding of the degenerative versus time of the artwork. Finally you can understand the new openings of the restoration of the contemporary. These are to be found in the interconnection between the conservation, maintenance and enhancement artworks
