NECESSITÀ DEL SUPERAMENTO DELLE CATEGORIE DI RESTAURO

Stefano Gizzi Soprintendenza per le Belle Arti ed il Paesaggio dell’Umbria

ABSTRACT

Until now, the story of the restoration has been regarded as a chronological sequence of currents of many types of restoration (stylistic restoration, historical restoration, philological restoration, conservative restoration). Instead we must overcome this distinction between separate categories. In fact, in any era are present simultaneously many aspects of the various types of restoration.

And the various members of the restoration may not frame rigidly in one category restorative, but they present method oscillations and passages from one category to another.

Even at recent reflections than particular events (earthquakes, urgent needs of necessary renovations) we find a range and a variety of nuanced opinions, he not drastically 'closed'.
