ABSTRACT

The cathedral of Fidenza has been known for many studies and projects since XVIII century until today, even if there are no geometric-analytic reliefs, analyze of rock types characterization and stratigraphic elevation, need to complete the knowledge of the changes or the building site contest which is taken part. The restoration works were made at the end of the last century, which have compromised the preservation of the headstone materials on the Duomo’s facade, towers and apse, according to this, it is necessary to make a conservation work, it will be made between 2016 and 2017. The project includes multidisciplinary activities and studies on different fields, which helped us to know more deeply the item. From some renovate projects documented (1800-1900), few time we have had a debate about the replacement of sculptural artifacts which are linked with imagine and artwork. Today we also ask: if the material naturally degrades, how will the imagine be frozen? Thank to our technologies (3d relief and copy by laser), we can realise the copy of the more exhibited sculpture (Simone) which will be a document in Museo Diocesano in Fidenza, but it does not replace the original one.
